Xiangjiang Liu, Professor
Zhejiang University
Prof. Xiangjiang Liu currently works at the College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science of Zhejiang Uninversity. His research focuses on unusual electronic and photonic sensing devices, with an emphasis on bio-integrated systems. These sensors can often enable new features (such as area coverage, mechanical properties, or geometrical forms) that would be impossible to achieve using traditional, wafer-based sensing technologies. Examples includes tattoo-liked wearable sensors for plants, conformal plasmonic-electronic sensors for human bodies, etc. These efforts are highly multidisciplinary, and combine expertise from nearly every traditional fields. His goal is to bridge the existing gap in the sensing technologies and provide continuous, non-destructive means to measure bio/chemical information of living organisms.
He has published 36 papers by now, many of which are published in high impact journals such as Science Advances, Advanced Science, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Optical Materials, ACS Sensors, etc. He has been recently honored as the “Youth Changjiang River Scholar” of Ministry of Education of China (2021). He has also won “the First Prize of 2014 National Teaching Achievement Award” from the Ministry of Education of China.
